A few shots from our Academy group working hard on their Power hitting last night.
Aim: Build a power base off the back foot, head remaining still at the point of contact providing a strong contact point for hitting through the ball with the key point of keeping shape while trying to hit the ball hard.
Outcome: The boys worked on transferring from drill-based movements to scenario-based work in the nets, where bowlers looked to limit the opportunities for the batters to power hit.
Our power-hitting session was led by Head Batting Coach Matt Dodds with Cameron Parsons our Academy Lead Coach providing the insight, knowledge and scenarios that our Academy players encounter from match to match.
Our highly successful Academy led by Level 2 and 3 coaches runs all year round. Each week sessions are built around a different type of skill and outcome, each session led by a different specialised coach including Obis Sarwar (Batting) & Tom Hampton (Fast Bowling). Our Academy is supported by our Directors of Cricket Shaun Coker & Tyler Armiger with a variety of current Senior players getting involved with providing advice and insight.
The main aim of our Academy is to develop our most talented players into successful cricketers capable of playing in our 1st and 2nd teams.
