Berkshire’s Josh Lincoln Joins High Wycombe As Batting All-Rounder

High Wycombe Cricket Club has added Josh Lincoln to its ranks - a player who brings not only quality with bat and ball, but also an abudnace of experience from both the Home Counties and the National Counties circuit.

For J.Lincoln, the move is more than just about cricket. It’s about the environment that Wycombe sets for its players and members.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing cricket at High Wycombe,” he says. “It’s a great wicket — offers something for both bat and ball — and there’s just a brilliant atmosphere around the club. Whether it’s the players or the social members, I’ve always been made to feel welcome. It just feels like the right fit, both on and off the field.”

His signing comes with a clear purpose; to strengthen the side with both bat and ball. In conversations with newly announced captain Cam Parsons and Club Chairman Chris Sketchley, they revealed a vision where Lincoln would play a central role — contributing with the bat, the ball, and most importantly for any team, in the field.

“That’s what really excited me,” he explains. “To be trusted with all three aspects of the game on a Saturday is something I’m really looking forward to. And bowling regularly with Cam — there’s a lot I can still learn, and he’s someone I really respect and know I’ll develop under.”

While J.Lincoln has plenty of sucess already under Brkshire -  including a  century in last year’s NCCA Championship final against Staffordshire — it’s clear that the team’s success takes priority over any personal or individual accolades.

“That hundred was special, sure. The game was in a tough spot, and to contribute like that felt great. But for me, cricket is about winning. That’s why the standout memory has to be my first Championship title with Berkshire, chasing down Cumbria four down. I didn’t contribute much with bat or ball that day, but that feeling of winning on that stage? Nothing beats it.”

Wycombe skipper Cam Parsons was thrilled to have signed J.Lincoln.

“It’s great to have Josh on board. He improves the side in all three departments, which is huge for us. He’s proven himself at this level and NCCA-level, and he will bring so much to the group — not just with performances, but with the kind of character and leadership he brings into the dressing room.”

As the new season quickly approaches, Lincoln is firmly set on getting into the action.

“The first game of the season can’t come soon enough. I’m just looking forward to being out there with some familiar faces, and doing everything I can to help us win games week in, week out.”

Josh Lincoln’s arrival at High Wycombe looks set to be a perfect match — alongside D.Lincoln and Aadi Sharma - and one that could make a big difference for Wycombe in 2025 having lost Marles, Callis and Woodland.
